Tulsa electricity

Said resource cannot be relied upon any time there is even a small fart of a storm, and this is one of those times. Our neighbourhood almost always goes out, due mainly to the poxy useless rusty piece of shit on a pole that is the transformer for the block. It is in dire need of replacement, not with more of the same, but with a proper eat-into-AEP-fatcat-profits reliable bit of kit. That'll never happen!

For now, I've rigged up a UPS to my wireless AP, switch and cablemodem and am able to send this really quite pointless message via the laptop. Perhaps the cable co should provide the electricity as they're far more reliable with their service, which is also up on poles, subject to weather, tree limbs, etc too.

Who knows, maybe power will be brought back by tomorrow!
